A FINE CASED 60-BORE PERCUSSION FIVE-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION ONLY REVOLVER, MODEL 'WEBLEY-BENTLEY TYPE', no visible serial number,
circa 1850, with blued octagonal 4 3/8in. barrel signed 'WILLIAM EGAN, BRADFORD', bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, plain cylinder with engraved band to the front edge, side safety spring, spur-less hammer, chequered walnut spurred grip, iron butt-cap engraved 'S. FOSTER' and a polished loading lever on the left hand side of barrel, the whole retaining much original finish TOGETHER WITH a period mahogany storage case compartmented and lined in green baize, 'William Egan' trade label to inside of lid and containing a number of period accessories including a fine condition bag-shaped powder-flask of small size signed 'Dixon & Sons, Sheffield', an oil-bottle and a double-cavity brass bullet-mould, the outside of lid bearing a circular brass escutcheon engraved 'S. FOSTER'
