Taylor patent hand-detachable locks, patent no. 17731 of 28th July 1897 with improved 'lighter pull-off' modification, patent no. 10567 of 7th May 1907, use numbers 2471 and 2468, locks also numbered 1059 and 1060, toplevers engraved 'WESTLEY RICHARDS PATENT ONE TRIGGER' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, L.B. Taylor selective single trigger mechanisms of modified 'two pull type', patent no. 26659 of 17th November 1909, use numbers 241 and 264, triggerplate mounted barrel selector switches with gold-inlaid 'L' and 'R' details, hinged floorplates, profusely engraved with bold acanthus scrollwork, the triggerguards engraved with scenes of pheasant and pointer, brushed bright and reblued finish overall, 14 3/8in. figured stocks, No.1 with insert repair below escutcheon, fore-ends with horn finials and Deeley & Edge patent release catches, weight 6lb. 14oz. (No.1) and 7lb. 2oz. (No.2), in their brass-cornered leather bound case
