Belgian circa 1900, with round tapering 28 1/4in. barrel, 8in. matted top-flat at breech, dove-tailed fore-sight with side protectors and standing notch rear-sight with twin folding leaves, plain slab-sided action marked 'FRANCOTTE'S PATENT' in a circle above the number on the left and with a take-down lever marked 'PATENT' and 'AF' on the right, dropping load-ramp with cocking indicator, finely chequered walnut butt-stock and splinter fore-end, iron heel-plate, blued trigger guard bow and finger-lever
