circa 1894, 26 3/4in. barrels with raised broad file-cut rib, open sights with folding leaf sight, white metal-inlaid sight lines and marked '150' and '250', bead fore-sight, the breech end with bands of engraving and mounted with a Pecar Variable 1 1/2-4 telescopic sight, serial no. A07738, on a quickly-detachable rail mount, treble-grip action with carved stylised leaf fences, slender toplever engraved 'PATENT', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, intercepting sears, removable striker discs, fine acanthus scroll engraving with ornate foliate bordering, 14 5/8in. figured replacement stock, slightly cast on and with cheekpiece to the right side, original engraved steel pistolgrip-cap, sling eyes and with original scroll engraved ribbed steel buttplate, bolstered fore-end with grip-catch release lever, weight 9lb. 8oz. (unscoped); with its original well-figured pistolgrip stock, cheekpiece to the left side, strengthening screw through head, with a nylon slip
