(rubbed), plain borderline engraved swing-lever rounded action, border engraved back-action locks signed 'CHA'S NEWTON', re-blued hammers, chequered walnut butt-stock, iron furniture, chequered walnut splinter fore-end with cross-bolt fastener, in a period 'Cha's Mcloughlin, Gloucester' oak and leather two tier guncase lined in red baize, the lower tray with provision for cartridges, the upper tray containing the gun and an oil bottle, compartments loose
