dated for 1897, with round 33 1/4in. barrel marked 'HENRY RIFLING' and 'WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO.', block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, nocksform with triangular bordered date stamp, slab-sided receiver marked 'MADE SPECIALLY FOR Z.A.R.' on the right and 'WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO.' on the left, together a further triangle trademark, walnut butt-stock (refinished, small chip at toe), short under-lever and full-length fore-end with two iron barrel-bands, the front with bayonet lug, missing under-barrel clearing rod, lightly cleaned of finish with some isolated pitting
