A RARE 7mm NOEL'S PATENT TEN-SHOT VERTICAL TURRET-PISTOL SIGNED GOUERY, PARIS, serial no. 26,
built to Noel's patent of 1865, with octagonal 3 1/2in. barrel (some shallow pitting), integral raised sighting rib with large dove-tailed triangular fore-sight, the left side of rib with oval stamp reading 'J.F. GOUERY CANAT & CIE, PARIS', the right with a similar stamp reading 'SYSTEME A NOEL BTE. SCBC', horizontal drum moulding engraved with scrolls and pierces with eight holes, the left side hinged with lock for access to the ten-shot magazine, the right side with side-hammer designed to strike the unique fulminate reverse conical-shaped cartridge, small swinging dog-safety below the hammer, unguarded folding trigger, swept walnut grips with floral decoration at head and alternating bands of stippling, geometrically engraved grip-straps and iron pommel-cap, fair traces of finish
