A SCARCE .650 FLINTLOCK PISTOL OF CARBINE LENGTH CUT FOR SHOULDER-STOCK, no visible serial number,
circa 1800, with round 12in. barrel, the flat sighting plane signed 'D. EGG LONDON', applied fore-sight, dove-tailed rear-sight at breech with one standing notch and a folding leaf, solid squared top-tang, borderline engraved slightly radiused lock with swan-necked cock and signed 'D. EGG' below the pan, walnut full-stock (cracked and repaired on one side of wrist), the rear of grip with an iron socket for a detachable butt (absent), brass ordnance style furniture, the trigger guard lightly engraved 'X' over 'LD' (probably spurious) and horn-tipped wood ramrod with worm end
