A .577 (SNIDER) MKIII 2-BAND ENFIELD CANADIAN MARKED SNIDER RIFLE, serial no. 646,
dated for 1871, with 30 1/2in. Enfield proofed barrel also marked 'STEEL', strong amount of original fading blue, block and blade front-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, the hinged breech block stamped 'W.D.' together with an Enfield inspection stamp, plain lock with a Crown V.R. device on the tail and '1871' over 'ENFIELD' to the centre, regulation brass mounted full walnut stock, the right side of the butt bearing an Enfield 1st Class roundel, and 'D.C.' (Dominion of Canada) in a diamond on the left, complete with sling swivels and jag-headed rod
