for 1897, 28in. replacement nitro barrels, rib engraved 'JOSEPH LANG & SON. 7 BURY STREET. ST JAMES'S. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, right wall at 19, treble-grip action, removable striker discs, slender toplever, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, foliate borderwork with acanthus scroll engraving, brushed finish, 13 3/4in. stock (setting cracks at rear of lockplates), weight 6lb. 8oz., in its makers brass-cornered oak and leather case
Provenance: This Lot is accompanied by a letter from the makers stating that this gun was completed on 11th August 1897 for H.O. Cubb Esq.
