for 1893, 35in. nitro reproved (in 2022) bold damascus barrel with sighting flat engraved 'JOHN DICKSON & SON. 63 PRINCES STREET. EDINBURGH', the sides with panels of scrolling acanthus, 82mm chamber, bored approx. 3/4 choke, Jones patent rotary-underlever, carved percussion fence, rebounding back action lock, the action, lockplate and furniture engraved with fine acanthus scrollwork, some patination, 14 5/8in. figured pistolgrip stock including 1in. recoil pad and with partially engraved steel pistolgrip-cap, fore-end with grip-catch release lever, weight 12lb. 8oz.
Provenance: The makers records list the gun as being sold on the 30th June 1893 as a 35in. barrelled single-barrelled duck gun
