circa 1905, 26in. nitro reproved octagonal barrel (lined from .300 Rook) with partially file cut top flat, hinged bead and aperture fore-sight, open sights with two folding leaf sights, the breech end engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98. NEW BOND ST. LONDON.' and 'WINNERS OF ALL THE "FIELD" RIFLE TRIALS', with later rail mounted scope rings with a vintage military telescopic sight, marked 'TEL. STG. NO.53 MKI OS I075 GA AK & S No. 736. 1944' and with a broad arrow, the hand mounted with a folding adjustable peep sight (the comb well carved for the sight to seat flush when folded), non-selective ejector, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, carved teardrop fences, removable striker disc, fine beaded border and bold acanthus scroll engraving, with central scrolling banners engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND', retaining some colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/2in. well-figured pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, engraved and colour-hardened steel pistolgrip-cap and blued steel buttplate, Hackett-style snap fore-end with horn finial, weight 7lb. 3oz.
