A RARE 9mm PINFIRE LEFAUCHEUX PATENT REVOLVER WITH DUMONTHIER PATENT KNIFE-BARREL, serial no. 023 643,
circa 1865, with octagonal 5 1/2in. barrel with integrally moulded 8 3/4in. bowie blade below, both sides of the blade with floral etching (worn), the left side of barrel throat marked 'DUMONTHIER B.S.G.D' and the patent use number '391', scroll engraved open iron frame with ratchet locking scroll engraved six-shot cylinder, double action mechanism with spurred hammer and guarded trigger, typical Lefaucheux-style 'hogs-leg' walnut grip (chequering rubbed) and domed iron grip-cap with central lanyard ring, no scabbard
