A PAIR OF 12-BORE 'SANDHURST' SIDEPLATED BOXLOCK EJECTORS, serial no. 54595 / 6, for 1924, 30in. nitro reproved barrels (in 1988), sunken ribs engraved 'COGSWELL & HARRISON LTD. 168 PICCADILLY & 226 STRAND. LONDON.' and '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 and 1/2 choke, No.1 right bore dimension marginal, treble-grip actions with hidden third bites, automatic safeties, bold scrolling acanthus engraving, retaining slight traces of colour-hardening, 14 3/8in. stocks including buttplates, weight 6lb. 4oz. (No.1) and 6lb. 6oz. (No.2)
Provenance: The Lot is supplied with a Certificate of Origin from the makers, confirming the guns were purchased by a Colonel A.D. Kirby on 25th June 1924 at a cost of twenty-four guineas per gun
