A CASED 26-BORE PERCUSSION SIDE-HAMMER TRAVELLING PISTOL, UNSIGNED, no visible serial number,
circa 1850, with octagonal 3 3/4in. barrel, bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight, scroll engraving to breech-block and top-plate, scroll engraved boxlock action with radiused edges and en-suite side-hammer, chequered walnut grip with oval white metal escutcheon to wrist and moulded iron butt-cap with central trap, guarded trigger and captive iron ramrod, in a period oak casing relined and compartmented for this pistol in green baize and with a number of later accessories
