A RARE 9mm (PARA) SEMI-AUTOMATIC SERVICE-PISTOL, MODEL 'P08 LUGER 'LANDES POLITZEI' ISSUE', serial no. 980,
dated for 1911, with 4in. sighted barrel, receiver bridge with date, 'ERFURT' trade mark to toggle, butt with no provision for shoulder-stock, the back-strap stamped 'L.P. 308', chequered wood grips, all matching numbers including wood-based magazine, the whole remaining in very good condition throughout and showing little signs of use (some very light holster-wear) TOGETHER WITH a tan leather holster (some mild scuffing to leather), a further aluminium based un-numbered magazine and a stripping/loading tool
Provenance: it is believed only 442 such pistols were issued to the 'Landes Politzei' in South Africa up to 1912 where records cease. The P08 was the replacement for the Roth Sauer .32 pistol
