believed to be a Belgian contract copy identical in all respects to the Winchester 1873 Musket, with 30in. barrel, the top marked forwards of rear-sight 'HENRY WINCHESTER MOD 1873 RIFLE', block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight, plain receiver with dust-cover sliding on internal rails with chequered thumb-piece, un-marked top-tang, walnut butt-stock with 'carbine' style heel-plate, centrally mounted sliding trapdoor, three-quarter length walnut fore-end, three iron barrel-bands and under-barrel magazine, the whole retaining a good amount of original finish
