A 6-BORE PERCUSSION FOWLING PIECE SIGNED R. BLANKS, MALDON, no visible serial number,
circa 1860, with octagonal to sixteen-sided to round 39in. barrel, the top-flat signed in script 'R. BLANKS, MAKER, MALDON', bead fore-sight, engraved breech and top-tang, border and scroll engraved lock signed in script on the bar 'R. BLANKS', engraved dolphin headed hammer, walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, iron furniture except white metal barrel-key escutcheons and fore-end tip, replacement ramrod


Provenance: Robert Blanks traded from the High Street in Maldon between 1855-70, although the business had been established by his father, William, at the same address in 1791
