circa 1785, with round 12in. iron barrel, moulded blind sighting rib, relief arabesque mouldings to breech, solid top-tang with shallow sighting groove, engraved rounded and curved lock with pointed tail, semi rainproof pan with carved frizzen spring, moulded and engraved swan-necked cock, walnut full-stock profusely relief carved with running vines, rope-twist borders and border mouldings around the white metal mounts, iron trigger guard bow and false white metal ramrod, the sides of pommel-cap engraved with heraldic double-headed eagles
