circa 1886, 36in. black powder only bold twist barrel engraved 'J. PATSTONE. SOUTHAMPTON. SILVER MEDALS PARIS 1878 LONDON 1885' and with short sight flat, hammerless action incorporating G. Gibbs and T. Pitt patent underlever cocking action, patent no. 284 of 1873, use number 127, sidelever safety, border engraving, 14 3/8in. pistolgrip stock with horn pistolgrip-cap and including 7/8in. (distressed) recoil pad, fore-end with grip-catch release lever and carved horn finial, weight 10lb. 10oz.
