A SCARCE .177 BSA STANDARD No4. CLUB MODEL UNDER-LEVER AIR-RIFLE, serial no. C1191,
for 1937, with 19 1/4in. blued barrel, dove-tailed fore-sight, elevating rear-sight, tap-action breech, plain air-chamber with traces of faded etched details, single pin trigger unit with weight adjuster to front of guard, walnut saw-handled butt-stock with pressed chequered grip-panels and ribbed heel, no provision for fore-end and push-button release under-lever
Provenance: The No.4 Club Model was a follow-on from the earlier 'Club Special' model. Outwardly similar to both the Standard and 'T' prefix models but was available in .177 only. Only around 3000 were produced between 1936-39 before World War Two halted production of all BSA's air rifles
