the revolver made 1854, with octagonal 7 1/2in. barrel, top flat signed 'ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY', bead fore-sight, matching number wedge, colour hardened open iron frame marked 'COLTS PATENT' (rubbed), six-shot cylinder scrubbed of scene, small-size brass trigger-guard and back-strap, smooth flared walnut grip, articulated under barrel loading lever, the whole well refinished and coloured, complete with a later walnut storage case lined and compartmented in burgundy velvet, including a brass cleaning rod and case key, the inside of lid with facsimile instruction label
