24in. nitro chopperlump barrels, deeply carved with floral motifs at the breech ends, matt sight rib with flip up peep-sight, peep sight base with matted top and gold-inlaid 500 / 465, gold-inlaid leaf sights for 100 and 200 yards, ramp-mounted gold bead foresight with protecting hood, tubes stamped 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON. ENGLAND' and initialled 'A.H.' on the underside, self-opening treble-grip action with side-bolsters and side-clips, removable striker discs, automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, elongated top-strap, cocking-indicators, filed articulated front trigger, the action, lockplates and furniture deeply carved with exquisite floral and foliate motifs interspersed with stylised acanthus scrollwork, all on a matt background, the fore-end iron decorated en-suite, the left lockplate relief engraved and gold-inlaid with a family group of tigers in a jungle setting, the right lockplate relief engraved and gold-inlaid with a scene of a rhino and leopard locked in mortal combat, the underside relief engraved and gold-inlaid with an Indian elephant and the triggerguard relief engraved and gold-inlaid with a crouching leopard, lockplates signed 'K.C. HUNT', the action bar engraved with the makers name in script, the fore-end iron initialled 'P.N.' (Peter Nelson), 15 7/8in. replacement highly-figured pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, engraved pistolgrip-cap with gold rope inlay, sling eyes and including a 1in. leather covered recoil pad, weight 11lb., in its brass-mounted oak and leather case.
The maker's have kindly confirmed that the rifle was completed in November 1967. The rifle appears to be virtually unused
