A FINE CASED 80-BORE PERCUSSION SIX-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, no visible serial number,
circa 1865, with blued 5 3/4in. octagonal barrel signed 'DEVISME A PARIS', gilt fore-sight, dove-tailed notch rear-sight, plain blued cylinder engraved with running vines and ivy leaves, open-topped frame in the white similarly engraved, engraved iron grip-straps, the back-strap with spur, walnut one-piece finely chequered grip with ebony butt-cap, colour-hardened take-down lever under barrel operating a locking wedge, London and Liege proofs, the whole retaining the majority of its original finish TOGETHER WITH its original oak case, compartmented in the continental style and lined with burgundy baize (faded to brown in exposed areas) and complete with a full compliment of original accessories including a rococco embossed adjustable flask, turn-screw, nipple-key, bullet mould, turned wooden cap-box, oil bottle and composite cleaning rod.
