for 1877, 30in. nitro reproved damascus barrels (some light pits), rib engraved 'JOHN DICKSON & SON. 63. PRINCES STREET. EDINBURGH.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. in both, Jones patent rotary underlever, carved percussion fences, non-rebounding locks with dolphin hammers, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, retaining traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 15in. stock including buttplate, weight 6lb. 13oz.
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that this gun was delivered as a best double breech loading hammer gun with underlever and 30in. barrels on 2nd June 1877
