circa 1876, 28in. sleeved nitro barrels (loose on action), retaining original rib engraved '2' and 'WILLIAM MOORE & GREY. 43. OLD BOND STREET. LONDON. W.' (rubbed), 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 and full choke, some external distortion at sleeving join, treble-grip action with later conversion to ejector, diminutive carved percussion fences, slender toplever, rebounding sidelocks, right ejector at fault, bold border and acanthus scroll engraving, 14 1/2in. stock including 5/8in. recoil pad, fore-end with 'sugar tong' catch, some cracking to wood, weight 6lb. 13oz.
