A RARE .32-40 (W&B) WEBLEY 1897 PATENT FALLING-BLOCK RIFLE SIGNED JOSEPH HARKOM & SON, EDINBURGH, serial no. 9128,
circa 1899, with blued 28in. barrel, dove-tailed folding ring fore-sight mounted on a long ramp, dove-tail mounted folding ladder rear-sight with further standing notch and folding leaf, the top of barrel signed forwards of the rear-sight 'JOSEPH HARKOM & SON, 30 GEORGE STREET, EDINBURGH', borderline and scroll engraved slab-sided receiver with stepped receiver-bridge and nocksform, vertical dropping breech operating on an under-lever and of hammerless design, top-tang safe, the top-tang further mounted later with a folding period Lyman peep-sight, chequered walnut pistol-grip butt-stock with moulded colour-hardened grip-cap, smooth iron heel-plate, chequered walnut splinter fore-end with rounded horn tip and provision for a sling
