LONDON.', No.2 with original inscription (rubbed) 'WILLIAM EVANS FROM PURDEY'S. 63 PALL MALL. ST. JAMES'S. LONDON. SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH'S FLUID PRESSED STEEL', the breech ends gold-inlaid '1' and '2', 2 3/4in. chambers No.1, 2 1/2in. chambers No.2, bored approx. 1/4 and 3/4 choke No.1 and imp. cyl. and 3/4 choke No.2, No. 2 wall thicknesses circa 17, treble-grip actions with removable striker discs, fences carved in high relief with stylised leaf motifs, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with integral barrel selector switches, intercepting sears, rolled-edge triggerguards, fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, 14in. stocks swept at combs towards central vision, No.2 pinned at head, bolstered fore-ends, weight 5lb. 15oz.
