circa 1790 and probably central European, with round 29in. barrel rifled in five grooves, double band iron nose-cap with integral boat-shaped fore-sight and side-mounted 'Baker' style bayonet-bar, 'L' shaped rear-sight dove-tailed into a block, solid top-tang with dome-headed top-nail, rounded lock with replacement brass pan, swan-necked cock, provision for a 'dog' safe behind (absent), replacement walnut full-stock (inlet repair above lock) with wooden lidded patch-box and brass furniture, the twin-nail side-plate crudely stamped 'VS. C. No.14', three ramrod pipes including throat all with rolled edges, replacement cup-ended iron ramrod, iron stirrup swivels and brass fore-end tip
