circa 1865, with round, tapering 36in. barrel, block and blade fore-sight, elevating ladder rear-sight graduated to 1000yds., squared patent breech with three short-ribs, plain top-tang with integral mount for a vernier sight, screwed plug, borderline engraved lock with sparse scroll engraved panels signed 'WILLIAM POWELL & SON', figured walnut half-stock with fully chequered pistol-grip, chequered iron heel-plate, plain iron furniture including pistol-grip cap and trigger-guard bow, fully chequered fore-end with rounded horn tip, fitted with an improvised sling mount to the barrel and no provision for ramrod COMPLETE WITH a boxed set of auxilliary sights including a detachable tunnel micro-adjustable fore-sight with interchangeable elements and a vernier rear-sight with a selection of apertures
