23 3/4in. blued nitro barrel (reproved in 2009) signed 'JOHN RIGBY & CO. 43. SACKVILLE ST. LONDON', block-mounted bead fore-sight with tunnel-cover, block-mounted single-leaf rear-sight calibrated for 100 yards, blued receiver engraved 'RIGBY .416 BIG GAME' on the receiver-ring, cocking-piece with Rigby patent aperture sight, 15in. pistolgrip stock including 3/4in. rubber butt-pad, chequered grip and fore-end, sling mounts, in full length brass-cornered oak-lined canvas and leather rifle case lined in red baize, the lid initialled 'W.J.'.
Other Notes: The makers have kindly confirmed that this rifle was completed in 1949 for a Brigadier Gatehouse with a 100 yard only rear-sight and special locking device to the peep-sight.
