A .45 (COLT) DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'NEW SERVICE', serial no. 4331,
for 1900, with 5 1/2in. barrel signed on two lines and with the patent date 1884, the left side of barrel marked 'NEW SERVICE 45 COLT', blued solid frame with swing-out fluted cylinder, the frame crudely stamped '616' on the left hand side below cylinder and 'EE730' on the right, the sideplate marked with the Colt Stallion trademark encircled by 'COLT'S NEW SERVICE', chequered hard rubber grips embossed with the word 'COLT' at head and lanyard swivel at heel, retaining the majority of a probable period refinish
