AN OFFICERS DRESS-SWORD IN FIELD SCABBARD,
South African circa 1999, with polished slender straight 32 1/4in. stainless steel spear-point blade, wide fuller for the first four fifths of its length, makers mark etched at the ricasso together with a large 'M' surrounded by a letter 'U', the reverse with a South African coat of arms and the motto 'EX UNITATE VIRES' (from unity, strength), nickel-plated three-bar guard, plated back-strap with integral pommel and wire-bound sharkskin grip, TOGETHER WITH its pigskin leather covered scabbard with nickel-plated mounts
