A BRITISH PATTERN 1827 RIFLE OFFICERS SWORD, serial no. 15100,
circa 1900, with slightly curved 32 1/2in. blade, etched for the first four-fifths of its length with floral scrolls, a Victorian crown and infantry bugle, the reverse with two vacant banners, makers mark etched at ricasso (very rubbed, nearly illegible) serial no. to spine with stamped 'WSC' monogram, iron half-basket with Rifle Regiment bugle and crown, iron backstrap and pommel, sharkskin wire-bound grip TOGETHER WITH its leather field scabbard with iron mounts (lightly worn)
