A FINE CASED .44 SECOND GENERATION 'HERITAGE COMMEMORATIVE 1847 WALKER' SIX-SHOT SINGLE-ACTION PERCUSSION REVOLVER, serial no. 848,
No. 848 of a limited edition of 1850 cased sets, with 9in. blued sighted two-stage black powder only barrel signed 'ADDRESS SAM.L COLT NEW-YORK CITY' on the top flat, the barrel-block with scroll engraved gold-inlaid ribbon on the left side signed 'THE COLT HERITAGE COMMEMORATIVE' and a scroll engraved ribbon on the right side marked 'US / 1847' with two engraved gold-inlaid portrait busts, one of Samuel Walker and the other of Samuel Colt, blued cylinder with roll engraved Texas Rangers scene, 'MODEL U.S.M.R.' and 'COLT'S PATENT', case-hardened frame marked 'C-COMPANY NO. 848', blued iron grip-strap, brass trigger-guard, figured one-piece walnut grips each with 'inspection mark', case-hardened rammer, in original fitted mahogany case lined with dark green velvet, the case with lift-out black velvet lift-out tray with a signed copy of the limited edition book 'The Colt Heritage' (No. 848 of 1850 copies) by R.L. Wilson, with keys. This revolver appears to be in as new condition.
