A YATAGHAN KNIFE,
late 18th century, silver hilt with shell decoration at the ricasso, worked marine ivory eared scales with horn fillers (slight cracking and losses), the 21 3/4in. watered blade of yataghan form (corroded) with gold damascening to the back and arabic inscription on the left hand side, in its original skin covered wooden scabbard with finely chased white metal chape (tip of scabbard missing).
