probably English circa 1740, steel hilt with narrow knucklebow and small pasdane, double shell guard and globular shaped pommel, all with traces of gilding, wooden grip (slightly wormed), binding missing, the 24in. blade of triangular form with inlaid scroll decoration near hilt (worn).
