A TURKISH 22-BORE PERCUSSION RIFLE,
early 19th century, converted from miquelet-lock, with heavy 35 1/2in. swamped octagonal damascus barrel rifled with seven grooves and with a gold-damascened chiselled panel of koftgari-work towards the muzzle and breech, later white metal bead fore-sight, characteristic standing slotted rear-sight pierced with two sighting-apertures, engraved lock signed 'SP. & SR SUHL', characteristic walnut full stock (some damage to fore-end) with decorative bone inlays, European trigger-plate and engraved trigger-guard, associated iron ramrod.
