26in. nitro reproved barrels with 6mm raised matt top-rib, gold-inlaid '2 CHOKE', side-ribs, top tube engraved 'J. PURDEY & SONS. AUDLEY HOUSE. SOUTH AUDLEY STREET. LONDON. ENGLAND.', 3in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 and full choke, hold-open toplever, manual safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, side-bolsters, cocking-indicators, non-selective single trigger, best bouquet and scroll engraving, retaining virtually full original colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/2in. highly-figured stock including 1 1/4in. leather covered recoil pad, weight 8lb. The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed in October 1956 with 26in. barrels, 3in. (not magnum) chambers for Mr Alfred Cowles
