second half of the 19th century, with 9 1/2in. broad single-edged spear-point blade (discoloured, some nicks in cutting edge) etched on the left side with scrollwork surrounding an eagle and branch and the inscription 'AMERICAN HUNTING KNIFE', the ricasso stamped 'BROOMHEAD & THOMAS / CELEBRATED AMERICAN / HUNTING KNIFE', nickel silver guard with scrolled quillons, dark horn grips-scales each with nickel silver panel, and nickel silver eagle's head pommel, in original nickel silver mounted snakeskin sheath.
