A GERMAN COMBINED HUNTING HANGER AND FLINTLOCK PISTOL,
last quarter of the 18th century, with 22 1/2in. curved single-edged blade (discoloured, pitted at tip) fitted with a 180-bore pistol on the right side at the ricasso, the pistol with 1 7/8in. three-stage turn-off rifled cannon barrel, engraved brass action signed 'F. WERDER / MAINZ' with exposed mainspring, long trigger, brass hilt comprising downturned shell-guard protecting the pistol mechanism, short rear quillon with acorn finial, knuckle-guard, and pommel cast and chased with foliage, staghorn grip.
