A MINIATURE IVORY-HANDLED BOXLOCK PERCUSSION MUFF PISTOL,
overall length of 1 3/4in. with turn-off barrel, folding trigger and suspension ring to rear of hammer, the action, tang and barrel engraved with scrollwork and floral motifs, swelled ivory butt, the whole in a marine ivory case with concealed latch, the outer lid with a fully-rigged ship under shortened sail in scrimshaw and a compass rose to the inner lid.
