circa 1840, with 9in. octagonal twist sighted barrels each signed 'LIVERPOOL' towards the breech, scroll engraved breeches each with single gold-inlaid line and platinum plug, scroll engraved tangs each incorporating the rear-sight, border and scroll engraved back-action locks each signed 'T. WILSON & CO.', walnut half-stocks each with chequered butt and flattened pommel, blued triggers, blued border and scroll engraved trigger-guards each with pineapple finial, silver escutcheons and barrel-bolt escutcheons, white metal fore-end caps, original brass-mounted hardwood ramrods each with worm, and retaining some original blued finish to mounts and faded browned finish to barrels, Birmingham proof marks, in original fitted mahogany case lined in green baize with accessories including Dixon pistol-flask, 'WD' iron bullet mould and iron wad-punch, the lid with trade label for 'Thos. Wilson & Co., Sheffield Plate, Hardware and Gun Warehouse', the lid with later brass escutcheon.
