* A 54-BORE TRANTER PATENT FIVE-SHOT DOUBLE-ACTION PERCUSSION REVOLVER, serial no. 10431.T,
with 6in. blued octagonal sighted barrel engraved with a band of foliage at the muzzle and scrollwork in front of the top-strap, border and scroll engraved top-strap and frame (arbor-pin catch missing, double-action mechanism at fault), the latter with stamp 'W. TRANTER'S PATENT', border engraved cylinder, chequered walnut butt, border and scroll engraved pommel and trigger-guard (some light surface corrosion and discolouration to each), later rammer with brass head (a working replacement), and some original blued finish throughout, London proof marks.
