with 33in. barrel marked 'WHITWORTH PATENT' towards the breech, Whitworth patent adjustable tangent rear-sight, later windage adjustable fore-sight and aperture rear-sight, border engraved recessed breech, border engraved bolted detented lock signed 'WHITWORTH' and with wheatsheaf trademark on the tail, walnut three-quarter stock with chequered grip and fore-end, border engraved iron mounts including pistolgrip trigger-guard and hinged patchbox-cover, iron sling mounts, iron ramrod (iron parts discoloured throughout), Birmingham proof marks.
