with 33in. barrel engraved 'WHITWORTH PATENT' towards the breech, mounting block for windage adjustable fore-sight (sight missing), rear military tangent sight, border engraved tang and detented bolted lock (pitted, safety-catch replaced) signed 'WHITWORTH' and with wheatsheaf trademark on the tail, walnut three-quarter stock with chequered grip and fore-end, the wrist fitted with mounting block for an aperture rear-sight, and iron mounts (ramrod and front barrel-band missing, some wear throughout, butt with extension, patchbox-cover and butt-plate possible replacements), Birmingham proof marks.
