A PAIR OF 18-BORE PERCUSSION OFFICER'S PISTOLS,
circa 1830-40, with 7 3/4in. rebrowned twist octagonal barrels each signed 'D. EGG. LONDON' towards the breech, border and scroll engraved breeches, tangs and bolted locks, the tangs each incorporating the rear-sight, the locks each signed 'D. EGG', walnut three-quarter stocks each with chequered butt, scroll engraved iron mounts, border and scroll engraved iron belt hooks (almost certainly added during their working life), silver escutcheons each engraved with a crest and initials, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons, and iron stirrup ramrods (iron parts polished bright, safety-bolts and screw-heads reblued), London proof marks.
