dated '1877', with 70cm. sighted barrel with bayonet-bar on the right at the muzzle and retained by two brass barrel-bands, receiver marked 'MANUFACTURE D'ARMES ST. ETIENNE' and with down-turned bolt-handle (non matching serial number), 11 3/4in. three-quarter stock (minor insert repairs) with traditional plug on the right side of the butt, brass mounts, and iron cleaning rod; together with A FRENCH MLE. 1874 GRAS BAYONET, in steel scabbard, the blade dated '1876'.
