A 25-BORE DOUBLE-BARRELLED PERCUSSION BELT PISTOL SIGNED NIXON, NEWARK,
circa 1840, with 7in. twist sighted barrels signed 'NIXON. NEWARK' on the rib, border and scroll engraved breeches, tang and locks, the last each signed 'NIXON. NEWARK' (one hammer nose chipped), the left lock-plate fitted with an iron belt-hook, figured walnut three-quarter stock with chequered butt, border and scroll engraved iron trigger-guard and butt-cap, the latter with hinged trap-cover, silver escutcheon and barrel-bolt escutcheons, and iron stirrup ramrod, Birmingham proof marks.
