A RARE FRENCH .69 FLINTLOCK 'GARDES DU CORPS DU ROI' (1814 MODEL) SERVICE PISTOL,
of similar form to a Year IX service pistol, reconverted from percussion, with 20cm. tapering barrel signed 'GARDES DU CORPS DU ROI' in gold (touch-hole relined), flat bevelled lock with rounded tail, brass pan and with feint Maubeuge manufacture inscription (cleaned bright, some scattered pitting), walnut three-quarter stock (cracked in front of lock), brass mounts including large pommel cast in relief with three fleurs de lys surrounded by a laurel wreath and surmounted by a crown, iron ramrod (barrel discoloured).
